Assistant Accountant - Athens

Fovera Prostasia S.A., a rapidly growing provider of accounting, tax, payroll and business consulting services, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its team in Athens.

In this role, you will contribute to the day-to-day accounting and tax operations of a diverse portfolio of businesses while working alongside an experienced team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor and review single-entry and double-entry bookkeeping records for individuals and legal entities.
  • Support clients by providing guidance on their tax and financial obligations.
  • Prepare, review and submit tax returns for individuals and legal entities.
  • Prepare and submit tax obligations, including VAT returns, withholding taxes, Intrastat, VIES and municipal taxes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and assist with complex accounting treatments and reporting.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Very good knowledge of the accounting cycle and Greek tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems and accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Good command of English.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Adaptability, teamwork and a proactive approach.
  • Flexibility to travel for business purposes when required.
  • Valid driving licence.
