Accountant - Heraklion, Crete

Fovera Prostasia S.A., a rapidly growing provider of accounting, tax, payroll and business consulting services, is seeking an Accountant to join its team in Heraklion, Crete.

In this role, you will manage the accounting and tax cycle of business clients while working alongside an experienced team of professionals and delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting and tax cycle for business clients.
  • Maintain and update single-entry and double-entry bookkeeping records.
  • Record accounting entries and financial transactions.
  • Calculate and submit tax obligations, including VAT, Intrastat, Listings and municipal taxes.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns for individuals and legal entities.
  • Monitor clients' financial and tax obligations and provide regular updates.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Support and supervise the operation of clients' internal accounting departments.
  • Assist in resolving complex accounting and tax matters.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an accounting or tax consulting firm.
  • Good knowledge of the accounting cycle and Greek tax legislation.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Very good command of MS Office.
  • Good command of English.
  • Strong organisational skills, consistency and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality and a collaborative mindset.
